Elders of Zion Going to Prague (2003)

My impression of the reactions of the participants in the oldies game in Kibbutz Yizrael was that everyone enjoyed both the game and the social gathering. Thanks again to Milton Kaplan for hosting us in Yizrael.

Following the participation of the "Elders of Zion" in the oldies tournament last year in Croatia, we have joined the European committee the Golden Oldies. The committee includes representatives from all Rugby playing European nations. Hundreds of clubs are involved with the committee. As members we have to pay an annual fee of 120 Euro.

There is going to be an oldies tournament in Prague at June 12-16, 2003. Anyone interested in participating either as player or as referee is hereby invited. Costs are yet undetermined but for reference, the trip to Croatia cost $500 per person.

In the mean time, we are continuing the Golden Oldies activities in Israel and have set a number of dates. We are trying to coordinate these with the union league schedule and that is why these games take place on weekends where there are provincial games only. I hereby apologize to anyone playing in the provincials, but we have no alternatives.

Timetable is as follows:
01/02/03 - Game in Sportech, Tel-Aviv
29/03/03 - Game in Kibbutz Yizrael
03/05/03 - Game in Sportech, Tel-Aviv

All games start at 11:30 and are followed by a B-B-Q. Participants will share the costs.

Following the last game in May, we will set a training schedule for those going to Prague. I hope we can recruit more players than the minimum this time. In order to continue on-going activities, each participant is asked to pay a fee of 100NIS. Anyone who hasn't paid yet is hereby asked to ensure payment by the next game.
